How to enable history message storage? Enable Cloud Storage for One-to-One and Group Messages

Prerequisites

  • Only the Chat Premium Plan and Chat Ultimate Plan can enable this service in the production environment.

Instructions

Go to the Chat pricing plans page in the Console to enable Cloud Storage for One-to-One and Group Messages.

  • Paid configuration (Free in the development environment)



Configuration details

One-to-one and group chat historical messages are stored under the same service in RC: Cloud Storage for One-to-One and Group Messages.

Once enabled, the RC server will save chat history for both one-to-one and group chat sessions. Whether you uninstall and reinstall the app or switch devices, you can retrieve the chat history using the client SDK. By default, chat history is stored for up to 6 months. You can extend this period for up to 36 months for an additional fee. To extend the storage duration, adjust it under the Extended Services tab on the IM Service Management page in the Console.

Chat history is recorded only after the service is enabled. Chat history prior to the service activation cannot be retrieved.
